This sculpture represents my artistic vision of the goddess Theia.
As the Greek goddess of divine and heavenly light, as well as sight and the
bright sky, she was regarded as the goddess from which all light proceeded.
Standing at 4.2 metres tall, she is represented in a
powerful, dynamic pose, embodying light and energy. This design features shards
of light that emanate from her figure, which emphasise this energy and divine
power.
The fluidity of her figure captures a sense of movement,
adding to the dramatic presence. Theia’s flowing, elongated form and textured
surface further enhance her ethereal nature and portray a goddess
who embodies both grace and authority.
This monumental piece invites viewers to reflect on the
role of light in both the natural and spiritual worlds, offering a blend of
ancient mythology with contemporary artistic interpretation.
The sculpture was based on a smaller piece called 'Spark I'.
