We are delighted to welcome Adam Paddon, Director and Patinateur at Sculpture Castings Foundry to give a talk about the patination of Bronze sculpture. Adam has worked on many of the pieces you will find in FORM, the Sculpture Show at Sculpture by the Lakes.
Patination is the application of chemicals to the surface of the bronze, often with heat, to change the colour of the metal however there are now a varied range of applications and techniques that Sculpture Castings are working to develop in innovative ways.
In this talk, Adam will explain the process and will be demonstrating different techniques.
Adam prides himself on producing patinas that complement the work of the artists he works with, and understands that this important process can be key to the success of a piece.
Friday April 14th, 11 am. Entry to the talk is free with a ticket to the park on April 14th.
