The inspiration behind this serene and graceful sculpture is
the peace and tranquility that we benefit from when surrounded by trees and
the natural landscape which in turn refuels our body and our mind.
"I gathered Norway maple leaves from trees in the
grounds of my sculpture park in Dorset and used these as my pattern to apply
onto the basic bronze face. By leaving
gaps and holes around the face it allows us to glimpse the natural world behind
her leaving her to subtly blend into and become part of the landscape."
Leaf Spirit is also at The Royal Botanic Garden at Kew. It
is the perfect home for Leaf Spirit which epitomises all that is so wondrous
about trees, we are so lucky to have this unique resource.
