Ewoud de Groot lives and works in a coastal village in the Northern Netherlands. After earning a degree in illustration and painting from the Minerva Academy of Art, he illustrated nature books before fully dedicating himself to painting in 1999. Now recognised as a established wildlife artist, de Groot brings a unique perspective to the genre.
His work balances the representational and abstract, blending traditional and contemporary styles. Rather than focusing on meticulous detail, de Groot experiments with composition, colour, and technique, aiming to capture the mood and atmosphere of the natural world.
