"My work is inspired by the daily walks on downs and in fields around my home, often travelling to the Dorset coastline for a dose of sea air. My paintings are created using many layers of narrative; I hope my work provokes a memory or stirs an emotion in the onlooker. I am not concerned with the figurative aspect of the landscape itself, although it is always my starting point. Through sketching outisde I want to capture the emotion of the moment I was there, I then develop the sketches into a series of paintings in the studio."
