Colin Moore was born on the Clyde Coast of Scotland in 1949. He studied architecture in Glasgow, and following an international career in architecture and design,  worked  as a painter and printmaker since 2004. He lived in Spain, Venezuela and London and then settled in Dorset.  Known for his distinctive abstract style, his work often explored themes of identity, emotion, and perception, using a rich palette and dynamic compositions to convey complex ideas, he created pieces that are both visually striking and thought-provoking.

Colin exhibited his work widely in galleries and art spaces, earning recognition for his unique artistic voice and contribution to contemporary art.  His book, Propaganda Prints, art in the service of social and political change, was published by Bloomsbury in August of 2010.

Colin recently published Siempre Tengo Hambre  celebrating The Art of Jazmin Velasco-Moore. We held a book launch in the gallery at Sculpture by the Lakes in November 2024, we are saddened to share that Colin passed away, later in the month.
